Siheung City's autonomous driving pilot project will be expanded. Self-driving vehicles and driving routes of "Ma-jung Service" will be expanded within this year.On-demand mobility company Ciel will launch the second year of "Reception Service," a pilot project for autonomous driving mobility in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, along with Automos, an autonomous vehicle developer.This project was designed to expand the control system and calling app functions as the number of routes and vehicles of Siheung's self-driving MOD (Mobility On Demand) service, which was established last year.First of all, the pick-up service route will be expanded to five routes within the second half of the year. A total of five routes, including Okgu Park and Jungheung S-Class, will be expanded and reorganized from one route connecting Oido Station on Subway Line 4 and the area around Seoul National University's Siheung Campus (Baegot-dong).Three more self-driving vehicles will also be deployed, increasing the total to five. One of them plans to operate in the form of a bus that operates at Oido Station and destination by time, not by calling. The autonomous driving MOD service includes overall service functions necessary for passengers to use autonomous vehicles, such as reservation, dispatch, route setting, and payment of vehicles. With the addition of autonomous routes and vehicles in the second year's project, the function of autonomous driving MOD will also be expanded. The mobile app will additionally apply a call method for each general route, and additional vehicle operation information will be provided for convenience of use, such as the expected arrival time of each route and the indication of the vehicle movement route. In addition, the control system functions necessary for operation management will be improved. The monitoring function will be strengthened so that information such as the passenger's departure and destination, vehicle movement route, and boarding status can be checked at a glance.
