14 Mar 2022

Siheung City announced on the 1st that an autonomous driving mobility service worth 6 billion won will be implemented.
On the 29th of last month, a consortium consisting of Seoul National University's Future Mobility Technology Center, LG U+, and Automos was finally selected as operators for the "Automobile Mobility Service Pilot Project" hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This is a self-driving late-night shuttle service project, with eight self-driving cars operating on a total of five routes in the Baegot area around Seoul National University Siheung Campus from Oido Station on Line 4.
This pilot project focuses on resolving blind spots for public transportation in Baegot New Town, providing demand-responsive services for citizens' convenience, and ensuring driving stability through the nation's best autonomous driving technology.
The Seoul National University consortium selected for the project plans to provide free late-night safe return shuttle services in the section of Oido Station-Siheung Baegot New Town, and aims to introduce a total of eight self-driving shuttles to Siheung by the end of next year.
Siheung Mayor Lim Byung-taek said, "We will form an autonomous driving TF team to actively cooperate in the autonomous driving mobility service business to facilitate the pilot project."
